What Do You Need to Know

What is Hypnotherapy or Hypnotic Relaxation Therapy?

Hypnotherapy is sometimes referred to as Quantum Medical Hypnosis (QMH) Therapy (or QMH) because it involves the use of relaxation, mental imagery, and suggestion for a therapeutic purpose. QMH involves learning how to use your mind and thoughts in order to manage:

  1. Emotional distress (e.g., anxiety, stress)

  2. Unpleasant physical symptoms (e.g., pain, nausea)

  3. To help you change certain habits or behaviors (e.g., smoking, overeating)

"The use of relaxation, mental imagery, and suggestion have been used in medicine and healing arts for centuries"

How will I benefit from hypnotherapy?

Quantum Medical Hypnosis (QMH) has been demonstrated to have a wide range of benefits, from simply improving symptoms or difficulties, to completely eliminating them. Most people describe hypnosis as a pleasant experience, during which they feel focused and absorbed in the hypnotic experience. Dr. Moghazy will structure the suggestions based on your comfort and preference.

In Quantum Medical Hypnosis (QMH),

you are given suggestions to achieve an altered state of awareness in which it is possible to reduce stress, manage pain, or respond to hypnotic suggestions to achieve greater control over behavior or symptoms.

How many sessions are needed?

The length of hypnotherapy sessions depends on the severity of the problem and your specific needs.

What can I expect?

Dr. Moghazy will likely complete a clinical interview in order to understand the history of your problems, and then develop a treatment plan. Dr. Moghazy will ask about past medical and psychological treatments and determine if there are physical or emotional conditions that would contraindicate the use of Quantum Medical Hypnosis (QMH).

The goal of Quantum Medical Hypnosis (QMH) Therapy is increased empowerment to help you achieve what you want to accomplish.

You cannot be hypnotized against your will or be made to do anything against your will. While (QMH) involves a process of “letting go” of tension and stress, the goal is increased control of self and symptoms.

You will not spontaneously begin talking or revealing information that you do not wish to provide. You will be aware of what is going on around you and what suggestions Dr. Moghazy is providing. You will be in control of your awareness during (QMH) and can terminate the hypnotic state at any time.

Will I be able to wake up afterward?

I want to make sure I’ll be awake enough to talk to my family and doctors. My answer: You’ll have no problem “waking up” at the end of the hypnosis session. You’ll never actually be asleep, just relaxed, calm, and focused.

I don’t think I’m very hypnotizable (e.g., because I’m too nervous; because my mind is too strong; because I need to be in control, etc.).

You don’t have to be “very hypnotizable” to benefit from hypnosis. In fact, research has shown that almost 93 percent of patients benefit from hypnosis regardless of their level of “hypnotizability.”

I don’t think I’ll be good at hypnosis.

All I’m asking for is your attention and concentration. If at any point you want to stop, just let me know. But most people find hypnosis to be relaxing and pleasant, so you also might find this enjoyable.

I saw a hypnosis stage show (or a television show) and the subjects did all kinds of embarrassing things, like singing and dancing. I don’t want to do anything like that.

My intent is to help you relax and to feel better while your treatment, not to embarrass you. You can’t be made to do anything you don’t want to do during hypnosis. It’s not minding control, it’s just a tool you can use to help you feel better.

Will I have to do what you say? Or Can the hypnotherapist control my actions and thoughts?

No! During hypnosis, I will offer you suggestions. These are quite literally just suggestions, not commands, orders, or magic spells. They simply allow your mind to expect better outcomes. At any time during hypnosis, you can speak to me, stop the session, or refuse to accept a suggestion. It’s entirely up to you.

What is the difference between Hypnosis and meditation?

Meditation is a conscious awareness of your consciousness, on the other side, hypnosis is the unconscious phenomenon that can only be accessed when the person allows it. So, meditation is a still state of mind whereas hypnosis is a very active state of mind that allows the person to travel through time and space. Meditation can reach a theta state of mind whereas hypnosis can go as deep as the delta state of mind, which is the deepest brain frequency possible. Meditation can be guided or independent. Hypnosis has to be guided because you do not want the conscious mind to guide your unconscious mind. Now, self-hypnosis is guided hypnosis because the person has to listen to hypnosis audio to achieve such a state of mind.

How will your life change when you open your unconscious mind using hypnosis?

If a person is excited to be a thought leader in their industry, maybe they are a doctor or a lawyer who has a successful practice, but now they want the next level of success in their careers. Perhaps, they want more business, write a book to be on a talk show, or whatever they want. And if that person is very self-conscious, they want all these things, but they can’t get themselves up there to speak, and when they did, they were uncomfortable, that person because of hypnosis becomes able to be on the stage and really be comfortable and happy. A lot of people are not aware that hypnotherapy can change things like that. Hypnotherapy is a powerful tool to build more confidence increase self-esteem and most importantly enhance the awareness of self-worth. Because when a person realizes their self-worth their abilities to succeed is doubled, or even quadrupled.

How can hypnosis transform my life?

People think of hypnosis as weight loss and smoking. But I don’t think people get very much about what else you can do with it. I don’t think people understand 95% of what is happening in their lives is unconscious. People are trying to go this business coach and that wealth coach without resolving the underlining problems, and that is difficult.

Is hypnosis safe?

Yes, Hypnosis is a safe and natural way to focus. Hypnosis also allows you to concentrate and pay attention to what matters. Hypnosis is the key to your unconscious mind to open the door of opportunities to achieve your goals without any distractions.

What does hypnosis feel like?

Hypnosis feels like you have slept for many days and wake up fresh and energized

I don’t have willpower - can I still use hypnotherapy?

Absolutely, because unlike other systems or methods of treatment, Quantum Medical Hypnosis is based on rewiring your unconscious mind's nervous system. You will succeed and breakthrough your old habits once you start learning more about your unconscious mind power.

Why some people did not quit smoking, lose weight, sleep better, let go of trauma, or anything else after using Quantum Medical Hypnosis?

Because of two reasons:

1- They think they will have to give up smoking (fear of losing control)

2- Get embarrassed in front of their family and friends if it didn’t work (fear of failure)

Will Hypnotherapy really work? I am worried about getting my hopes up only to be disappointed.

Nobody likes to feel disappointed, but let’s face it, if you do what you have always done, you will get what you have always gotten. On the other hand, Hypnotherapy is new (unknown, unfamiliar) to your conscious mind, that is why you feel what you feel towards it. Once you start your Hypnotherapy sessions become familiar to you and all these worries will disappear.

There is so much research to demonstrate the efficacy of hypnosis that it is impossible to list it all here. Research backs hypnosis as a treatment for physical problems such as pain management, IBS, and other gastrointestinal difficulties, as well as a, demonstrated an effective tool to assist with accomplishing personal goals (i.e. test-taking, sports performance enhancement, confidence and self-esteem building, getting over stage fright and public speaking fears), and habit change (quit smoking, lose weight, stop nail-biting, and many more), and to help us relax (manage stress, overcome fears), as well as to increase intimacy, improve communication, and manage emotions such as anger, depression or anxiety.

How does hypnosis work?

We have the very primitive part of our brain called the amygdala that developed in order to help us survive when we’re confronted with danger, responding quickly with a “fight, flight, or freeze” impulse. When it gets activated it releases stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline which constricts our blood vessels and makes our heart work harder, our breathing shallower, and our muscles tighten. This enables us to immediately take up one of these three alternatives to deal with the danger. But our bodies are not able to sustain these stimulants for long periods of time or repeatedly, so if they persist, we begin a downward spiral that saps our energy and enervates us, leading us a downward spiral. What is De-Hypnotization means?

The "Environmental Hypnosis", which is the overwhelming feelings and emotions that people are experiencing after the pandemic - has created emotional chaos. Therefore, instead of hypnotizing a person, I actually De-Hypnotizing them first. I do that by teaching a person how to regulate their emotions/thoughts (self-talk) and creating a state of safety and security. Which is a crucial part of the Quantum Medical Hypnosis Technique.

So, then, what is hypnosis?

In a word, hypnosis is the (State of Mind) of being focused. The hypnotherapist helps the one being hypnotized to focus on their desires rather than their problems from the past. We sometimes become so focused on the problem that it’s nearly impossible to focus on our desires by ourselves because our critical mind is designed to keep you safe and will take you back to your comfort zone, your familiar thoughts, and your reactions.

The most common reasons I’ve found that people avoid treatment:

are that they worry about what others will think and that they might be seen as weak. However, a client of mine told me that “her real fear was she was afraid nothing could help her”. I assured her that I was glad she was here and told her that if she really thought nothing could help, no one would stop her from going back into her old habits. That surprised her.

“No, no!” she protested. “I’m here seeking help and I’m ready to move forward with my life and feel better.” With that, I showed her some of the profound results that QMH had with other PTSD subjects, and other published medical research that demonstrated wonderful success.
